History & Heritage

Opened in 1953 as a State Guesthouse, the building combines French and Sino-Russian architectural styles. This is Sofitel's first Legend hotel in Greater China, the second in Asia, and the fifth in the world. The renovation preserved the lofty ceilings, original mouldings and coving, and art deco details.

Really good Restaurant Experience

I was delighted by the superb choice in the hotel's buffet breakfast, which featured an impressive array of options, including smoked salmon. Not only was the food delicious, but the beautiful setting made every meal special. I particularly enjoyed the Chinese restaurant located within the complex, where I had some of the most flavorful dishes I've tasted. This hotel truly excels in its dining facilities.
